Proclean 14 is a specialist cleaning agent, designed to be used with many types of coating used within the construction industry, such as acrylic sealants, as well as many other types of water-based paints or lacquers.
Proclean 14 is a pH neutral water-based emulsion that is particularly effective for cleaning application equipment such as compression sprayers, high pressure guns, spray lines and spray nozzles without damaging any component materials. It can also be used to clean brushes and overspray.
Due to its composition, Proclean 14 can be used with the application equipment that is used to apply both water and solvent based coatings, which can traditionally be a problem to clean. It is much more powerful than using thinners, xylene etc. and can therefore help to reduce VOC usage.
Depending upon the coating it is being used to clean, Proclean 14 should be used in either its neat form (acrylics etc.) through to 90% dilution in normal water, meaning that it is very economical.
We use many different compression sprayers on site can we use this with all of them?
If you are using Proclean 14 as directed then there shouldn't be a problem with using it in all of your sprayers. Cheap sprayers could suffer as they tend to use low quality seals and plastics so these could be damaged but very few industrial users have low quality sprayers as they need reliability.
What do we do with the Proclean 14 when we have used it?
First of all, don't just throw it away as it can be used many times not just once. After each use (or a number of uses) you can run the Proclean through a filter to remove some of the solids it will contain after the cleaning it has done. You may not see actual solids but if you allow the solution to settle then the solids will collect and can be either filtered or just remove the clean Proclean from the top. This can then be used again but you may want to top up the concentration. The waste can be disposed in the same way as you would the neat product or containers.
You should always check the product label or local disposal sites for confirmation of the appropriate disposal methods.
