HSS PLUS is a liquid defoamer for use in industrial waters. Its high power will eliminate foaming, bubbles and scum from all types of water installation especially within paint spray booths and especially with thick and persistent foam.
Anti-Foam HSS PLUS contains a mineral oil so is ideal for use in installations with vigorous or turbulent water movements that cause persistent foam or for processes that create thick and heavy foam deposits.
HSS PLUS is best added to agitated areas of water which allows for quick dispersion therefore lower doses and faster actions. If unable to add to this type of area then we recommend diluting HSS PLUS, prior to dosing, up to 20% (1 : 5 product : water).
How much HSS PLUS should I add to my spray booth?
HSS is a very economical product so a little goes a very long way. Whilst it can be quite difficult to be exact with your additions you would be looking to add around 20ml - 30ml, per dose, to a 1000-litre capacity tank. The size of the dose is dependent upon the amount of foam and its consistency so if you have very thick foam forming or the water within your booth is very turbulent a larger addition may be required. HSS PLUS can be added manually in single doses or by a dosing machine which will delivery a measured amount over a set period of time.
How often do I need to add HSS PLUS?
As with Promousse, you should only make additions of HSS PLUS when required. We do not recommend making additions to your water until foaming becomes an issue with the operation of the booth or with the process.
How is the foam killed?
Our anti foam solutions (HSS PLUS & Promousse) work by creating a film across the surface of the water and it is this film that stops the creation of new foam. If adding to an industrial installation then making your additions in an turbulent area or beside a pump inlet will allow the products to be mixed properly thus allowing it to be at its most potent.
What is the difference between HSS PLUS & Promousse?
Whilst they are both defoaming products and they both work in the same way, the two products are very different. Promousse contains ethoxylated alcohols which makes the product slightly more user friendly however not as effective as the HSS PLUS which contains mineral oils. This is why we recommend HSS PLUS for heavier and persistent foaming deposits which Promousse may struggle with or would require larger additions.
