Description

Antifreeze LD is an additive that can be safely used alongside our water treatment systems, or just added to industrial water, when the location of a system (or tanked water) may cause issues with freezing over the winter months.

Antifreeze LD will not hinder the effectiveness of our other chemical additives when used alongside them meaning that you can continue with your normal treatment procedure but with the confidence that your water will not freeze should the temperature drop.

  • Prevents Freezing:
The freezing of liquid can cause serious damage - as it freezes, the expansion can crack pipes, damage hoses, or break systems. Antifreeze lowers the freezing point of the mixture, preventing this from happening in cold climates.
  • Prevents Overheating:
Antifreeze also raises the boiling point of the liquid, preventing it from overheating in high-temperature conditions. Without antifreeze, the liquid might boil and overheat, resulting in severe damage, such as warping or cracking.
  • Corrosion Protection:
Antifreeze contains additives that prevent rust and corrosion inside the system. This protection is critical for maintaining the longevity of parts like the pipes,  pumps, and tanks.
  • Lubrication:
Antifreeze helps lubricate important parts to ensure smooth operation and reduces wear on components.

FAQs

Can I use this with the Fusion 800 mixing tank?

If your mixing tank is in an area where freezing could become an issue, for example if it is situated outside of a main building or during a shutdown when heating may not be used, then water within the tank, pumps or pipes could freeze and this can cause damage, especially to pumps. Antifreeze LD will stop the water freezing so, yes, it can be used in your Fusion 800 tank as well as many other areas. Just make sure that you are adding the right concentration for the low temperatures expected.

How do I mix this with my water?

Antifreeze LD is generally mixed to a range of concentrations to match the anticipated conditions. Very much like antifreeze for vehicle water bottles, the colder the temperatures the higher the concentration. The recommended working concentrations start as low as 1%, of the water volume, up to 15%. To use Antifreeze LD, you simply pour the require amount, slowly, into the water.
