Description

Our paint stop spray booth filter rolls are the most common and widely used form of fibreglass filtration. This green & white filtration material is used in many areas as both a primary or a secondary filter for spray booth extraction as well as for filtering heavy dust and even, in some cases, air entering a booth or product preparation area.

These paint stop filter rolls are made of extremely fine, very elastic and regular glass fibres, whose density increases from the air-intake side to the clean-air side.  This progressively built structure, which is a vital characteristic for a high-performance fibre glass filter, offers the following advantages:

  • High efficiency filtration meaning protection of fans, extraction ducting, and the environment.
  • Low pressure drop, due to a solid stability of the filter media, reducing energy costs.
  • Progressive build structure results in a long service life reducing your down-time and waste.

This filter can also be found on our new website, www.bespokefilters.co.uk. This new site is a stand alone website for our air filters and has been expanded to include new product ranges, improved technical data and product information.

FAQs

Handling this material makes my arms itch. Is there anything I can do?

You should really be wearing protective clothing such as long sleeve coveralls, safety glasses, face mask and gloves when handling Profibre and other fibreglass materials as the dust and fibres can cause aggravation to skin, breathing and eyes. An alternative to all of this is to use our Procart K or Procart KH filter. This is a paper-based material (no skin aggravation) that is also supplied on a roll so can be used in the same installations as Profibre fibreglass. It also has the benefit of a greater paint holding capacity so does not require changing as often as fibreglass filters.

I have just cut a piece from the roll and it is not 110mm thick.

The fibre is wound tightly onto rolls during the manufacturing process so when it is first opened the material will be thinner than the stated 110mm. Once the material has rested the fibres will go back to their original thickness. Just give it a couple of minutes.

Which is the front of the Profibre?

With all our fibreglass filtration products there is a back and a front. It may not always be obvious, but it is important that the product is fitted correctly so that you are getting the most efficient and effective filtration.

Our PROFIBRE rolls are coloured green and white and it is the green side that faces into the spray booth therefore it is this face that the overspray hits. If you are using our specialist PROPORA filter, then it is the purple side that faces into the spray area.

You have three different types of fibreglass filter. Which is best?

All of the filters are designed for a different purpose so it is a little unfair to ask which is best or to compare them directly however the Progiallo and the Profibre are similar to each other so to compare these two the Progiallo has a higher paint holding capacity and will hold onto dust particles that could be dislodged from the Profibre. Therefore the Progiallo could be seen as being a better product than the Profibre but it does come at a slightly higher price. The Propora has the highest paint holding capacity of all three products and can be used with water based paints but it is not impregnated.
