Control bacteria levels within all types of industrial water installation with this liquid biocide treatment

Description

Powerful, liquid biocide to quickly eliminate bacteria from all types of industrial water installation.  Easy to use, this biocide gives you control over the levels of bacteria within your systems, so to easily keep the working environment safe.

With its active ingredients being changed with each batch, no bacterial resistance is established within an installation so you can be sure of long-term protection against bacterial growth.

The use of PROBIO is not restricted to industrial paint spray booths or pre-treatment plants, as it can be used in many other types of situations.  If you are unsure if PROBIO is the correct product to meet your requirements, then please just contact us, and we can ensure you are using the right product.

Dosage depends upon the type of installation; however, as an example, for many types of industrial treatment, we recommend an initial dose of 1% of the total water volume, which establishes the correct starting concentration. After this, a daily/weekly addition will maintain this concentration, especially if fresh water is added.  If this does happen, to maintain a working concentration, add between 1% - 1.5% of the estimated added water.

FAQs

What does Probio do?

Probio is a BIOCIDE which Wikipedia describes as 'a chemical designed to destroy, deter, render harmless, or exert a controlling effect on any harmful organism.' Therefore, Probio, when added to your industrial water, will kill or control the growth of bacteria. Bacteria in water are not necessarily harmful; however, unrestricted growth in water can lead to an unpleasant working environment (smelly water) and could be unsafe in certain situations.

How much do I add to my spray booth water tank?

Probio biocide should be used at a working concentration of 1% of your water volume. Therefore, for every 1000 litres of water, you should be adding 10 litres of Probio to establish the initial working concentration. However, remember that the water may be topped up with fresh water, so daily or weekly additions of Probio may be required to maintain the 1% concentration.

Will this stop the smell coming from my water?

If not stop, then it will certainly make your water smell far less offensive.  However, if used correctly, the additions of Probio will eliminate all smells from the water as it will control the growth of bacteria, therefore will control smells that are emitted, especially during warm weather.

Do I have to make regular dosages?

If you want to control bacteria within a body of water that is being used (a spray booth, degreasing tanks, etc.) or is within a working environment, then we would suggest that a regular dose would be beneficial to control bacteria. It must be remembered that bacteria will continue to grow, so whilst an initial dose can greatly reduce bacteria levels, if the water is then left untreated, new bacteria will start to grow.

Can I not just make a single addition of biocide?

You can make a single addition, and many of our customers do just that. We feel that there is only a requirement to add a biocide to industrial water if bacteria levels are high. Sometimes, these levels can fluctuate, especially during warm weather or if the water is allowed to stagnate (maybe during shutdown periods).  In this instance, a shock treatment can reduce the bacteria levels to normal. This single treatment should be made at 1% of the water volume. Likewise, additions for a short period of time, such as during hot weather, can be made.

Will this help with Legionella?

Yes. Using Probio bocide within your water installation will allow you to control the potential growth of the Legionella bacteria.

Where can I use Probio?

You can use our biocide range in any type of industrial or residential water installation. It should not be used in drinking water, washing water, or bathing water. This means that you should not use it in a swimming pool or stored water that is for a shower or bath. It can be used with all types of water that is used within industrial areas, such as spray booths, degreasing or pre-treatment tanks, cooling circuits, and many other uses.

My water tank is automatically topped-up, how can I dose this?

To maintain the recommended working concentration for your biocide treatment an initial dose of 1% should be added to the water. Many types of industrial installation will have a requirement to maintain a water level therefore water will be automatically added as the level drops and this fresh addition will reduce the 1% concentration that was initially established. To maintain the 1% you need to know how much fresh water has been added so that you can make a daily or weekly top-up of the Probio, if the volume of water is unknown then simply collect the fresh water (whilst it is being added) over a short period of time, maybe 1 minute, then multiply the captured volume to find how much water would be added over a set period. For example, if 10ml of added water was collected in 1 minute, in 1 hour 600ml would be added, and over an 8 hour period 4800ml/4.8 litres would be added.
